For the record I think that writing software commercially should only consider the bottom line. What you do in your own time is your business; that's why open source is good for innovation through revolution. Ethics for legal and medical professions is a broken analogy because all of their ethical considerations focus on outcomes for clients/patients, not the details of how their services are executed.
